At Gildeprint you can choose from the following three binding methods:
Milled Glued / Perfectbind
Perfect binding is the most commonly used method of binding we use at Gildeprint. This way of binding mills the sheets at the spine. A bundle of loose sheets is glued to the cover with hot-melt glue. Perfect bind can be used with all sorts of paper and is often use for thesis and exercise books.
The advantages:
- Short turnaround;
- Price-wise the most favorable.
Disadvantage:
- The quality is lower and less sustainable;
- Not applicable to all paper types.
Sewn bending
This way of binding can be used with all sorts of paper. The printed sheets of 4, 8 or 16 pages are literally sewn together with thread. As the folded sections form a whole, a page cannot fall out.
The advantages of sewn bindings:
- Applicable to all paper types;
- Very strong and durable;
- Flexible book, stays open well;
- Chic look with unique possibilities.
